Sabbar is an Egyptian brand committed to enhancing mental health by guiding individuals toward adventures and activities that foster a deep connection with nature and their cultural heritage. The brand name, "Sabbar", means cactus in Arabic, symbolizing the Egyptian landscape where all the adventures take place. This project is a conceptual design and has not been implemented in real life.
Moving poster
Rendered using Blender, this moving poster explores the abstract concept of incorporating a 3D transparent prickly pear as a graphic element. The prickly pear, a type of "Sabbar" (meaning cactus), aligns with the project's theme. It is not only a beautiful fruit but also an iconic symbol found on Egyptian streets.
Logo Design
The Sabbar logomark is directly inspired by a cactus top view, allowing the logo to look circular and symmetrical. A simple typeface was used for the wordmark to perfectly match the sArabic and latin typefaces.

Mobile Application
The Sabbar mobile application is the most essential design touchpoint, serving as the gateway for users to engage with all that Sabbar has to offer. It provides access to mental health assessments, community interactions, adventures, games, and more.
Sign system
The brand's primary typeface was deconstructed into simple shapes, allowing the signs to be constructed from these elements while maintaining the typeface's proportions. This approach ensures excellent consistency between the typography and the signage.

Veronica Zaki, Laila Hazem, and Andrew Nader collaborated on this project at the German University in Cairo.
Andrew’s contributions included developing the brand name and logo concept, designing the logo, posters, and a moving poster, as well as creating the website’s landing page. He also played a key role in designing the "Adventures" section and other parts of the mobile application, in addition to contributing significantly to the signage system concept and design.
